Email Alias Management
Email aliases (also known as personal names) allow UConn faculty, staff, and students to create variations of their e-mail addresses and still have them delivered to their institutional email account. All aliases point to your assigned address, which is the one registered with the mail server account.
You can create aliases two ways:
- Contact the Technology Service Center asking for an alias; these aliases are registered with the email system and will persist as long as you are associated with the University.
- With plus email addressing. You can create variations of your existing email addresses by inserting a ‘+’ and then a desired descriptor (e.g., smith+education@uconn.edu)
